Food Independence Day

"This July 4th, let's declare our food independence by sourcing the ingredients for our holiday meals as locally, sustainably and deliciously as possible and let's ask our nation's first families to do the same"
Visit for more info.

I have been severely neglecting this blog lately, due to my new job as Market Manager for our local farmers' market in Abingdon, VA. If you are ever in the area, visit our vibrant market, a premier market for this region! I am so proud to be a part of this community, and am enjoying every minute of it! Lots of new and exciting things to learn, and real-life greening to encourage! I'll be around more, don't give up on the blog!

My name is Bill Hawthorne, and I represent, a leading web resource for asbestos exposure and mesothelioma cancer information. Our organization is dedicated to increasing awareness of the terrible health consequences of asbestos exposure through the distribution of the best informational materials and public outreach efforts.

I found your site through a search and decided to contact you because of its high environmental and green presence which is extremely important in our movement. Your viewers are extremely savvy and motivated. The promotion of how buildings should now be built using green products to avoid asbestos and mesothelioma as well as the awareness of past buildings and preventative steps in avoiding asbestos exposure are extremely important. My goal is to get a resource link on your site/blog or even to provide a guest posting to be placed.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to check out our website at Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks for posting the Food Independence Day site. I've been meaning to check into our local farmer's market, but have put if off. Thanks for the reminder that I can get the best veggies from there!

p.s. email me and tell me about The Motherhood website. I just found it and it looks interesting.

Great idea for the holiday! We have a new produce market that sources locally in our area, so we are really fortunate to be able to buy locally now!
